What is Yanao Beach?

Yadon Kaisuijo is a quiet, secluded beach located in Yadon, Ugane Village, in the southern part of Amami-Oshima Island, Kagoshima Prefecture. Facing Yakiuchi Bay, the beach is blessed with beautiful coral reefs and clear waters, and is known locally as "Yadon blue" because of its attractive ocean color. It takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes by car from Amami Airport and about 2 hours from downtown Naze, but it is a nature-rich beach with few people and a relaxing atmosphere.

Why and how to enjoy Yanaulu Beach

The most popular reason for the popularity of Yanao Beach is the uncrowded, spectacular view and the freedom to enjoy the ocean. The white sandy beach and shallow waters are lined with coral reefs and colorful tropical fish that can be seen when snorkeling.
The beach is long and winding, with a view of the uninhabited island of Edatekushima on the opposite shore, giving it an appealing open-air location. Since there are few visitors, you can have the beautiful ocean all to yourself in a quiet environment that feels like a private beach.
The facilities are also safe. Free parking, toilets, fresh water showers, changing rooms, and rest areas provide a comfortable environment for families.
There is also an observatory in front of the village that offers a panoramic view of the Yanaulu Coast from a high vantage point, making it a good place for a stroll or a stopover on a drive.
