I was completely blown away by the scenery of the Kanasakuhara Primeval Forest, which made me feel as if I’d traveled back in time to the age of the dinosaurs. The certified guide’s explanations were extremely thorough, and I was able to gain a deep understanding of the plants and ecosystems unique to Amami Oshima. The transportation from the Naze area was also seamless, and I had a very fulfilling half-day.

In the mangrove forest, where all I could hear was birdsong and the sound of the wind, my soul felt completely cleansed. As I glided slowly along the river in a canoe, taking in the negative ions from the mystical waterfall with my whole body, the fatigue of daily life seemed to melt away... I was able to spend a very peaceful time, feeling as if I were being embraced by the bosom of nature.

Since we had the tour all to ourselves and it was completely customized, we were able to efficiently visit only the places we wanted to see. With an itinerary that combined the mangroves and Kakeroma Island, we were able to fully enjoy Amami’s rich natural beauty in just one day. The transportation arrangements went very smoothly, which was a huge help.

First, we paddled slowly down a calm river in a mangrove canoe, and then we went trekking through the forest. While soaking in the negative ions from the mystical waterfall, we were able to fully experience the great outdoors of Amami Oshima. I was a little worried about my stamina, but the guide adjusted the pace to suit us, so I was able to enjoy the tour comfortably and without any strain right up to the end.
