What is KATETSU Beach?
Katetsu Beach is a shallow, calm, sandy beach located in Katetsu, Setouchi-cho, in the southern part of Amami-Oshima Island, Kagoshima Prefecture. The clear "KATETSU blue" sea and the view of Kakaroma Island on the other side of the shore are the attraction of this beach. Located along the coast in a quiet village, it has a calm atmosphere in harmony with nature.
The location is just a short walk from the inn and facilities to the ocean, where marine activities such as snorkeling, SUP, kayaking, etc. can be easily enjoyed. The local lodging facility "Oyado Neps" is popular for its location right in front of the beach and its ocean fun rentals.

One of the reasons for the popularity of Gatetsu Beach is the beautiful gradation of the sea, known as "Gatetsu blue. On a clear day, the color of the sea changes from emerald green to deep blue, making it a relaxing spot to just sit and gaze at the sandy beach.
The shallow waters and gentle waves also make snorkeling and SUP safe for beginners. There is a wide variety of beach activities, such as playing on the beach, picking up seashells, and napping on the beach.
