Kakeroma Island (Kakeroma-jima) is a quiet, remote island in the southern part of Amami Oshima, across the Oshima Strait.
About 30 small villages are scattered throughout the island, where visitors can experience the simple island life and traditional culture. Known as a filming location for the movie "Otoko wa Tsuraiyo" (Otoko wa Tsuraiyo), the scenery is soothing and appealing☆.
