It was raining due to an unfortunate typhoon, but we were lent umbrellas and walked along a well-maintained boardwalk toward the Kinsakuen Wilderness Forest. We found tree-climbing lizards, Amami Hanasaki Toads, Haguro Dragonflies, and Princess Habu. We were able to relax while receiving explanations about the World Natural Heritage of Amami Oshima and its history. If you are looking for a serious trekking experience, you may want to take a different course, but it was a lot of fun.

My friend who had never trekked before was with us, but we all enjoyed the walk as we stopped to look at this and that... It was not a steep mountain path, but a mostly flat path, and we felt safe as we were told to be careful of the occasional slick spots. There were some stairs going up and down, but I think it was about 40 steps... I was overwhelmed by the precious trees we could see at the end of the path. We were shown many creatures that cannot be seen in the metropolitan area and were taught many things we did not know. The area is an area that requires a guide, so there was no garbage and it was a beautiful natural environment. I hope it will be protected for a long time. I will go back again!
