The sea in the northern part of Amami Oshima is attractive for its varied underwater environment. There are calm dive sites in the inner bay and many dynamic dive sites such as dropouts (places where the water suddenly becomes deep) in the open sea.

I was a little nervous about participating on my own, but the staff were all so friendly and approachable that I was able to relax right away. When I dove into the crystal-clear blue sea, I forgot all about the hustle and bustle of everyday life and was able to immerse myself deeply in my own world. I’m completely satisfied that I was able to enjoy such a luxurious experience—one that’s unique to traveling alone.

I had never dived before and was really worried about whether I’d be able to breathe properly. However, the instructor explained everything very carefully—from how to use the equipment to how to equalize my ears underwater—so my fears gradually faded away. There were a few waves, but once I got into the water, it was so beautiful—it felt like another world—and I’m really glad I worked up the courage to participate.

This is a great tour that’s easy for beginners to join, with equipment rental included. It’s easily accessible from the airport, and the water was crystal clear, so I really enjoyed the diving itself. However, the shower facilities were a bit crowded, and I had to wait a while, so I think it would be perfect if that were improved.

It was my first time diving, and I was a little worried about my physical stamina, but the instructor patiently taught me everything from how to use the equipment, so I was able to dive without any trouble. The water was incredibly clear, and it felt really wonderful to gradually get used to the underwater world.

As I dove deep into the beautiful waters off Amami Oshima, a serene, otherworldly landscape unfolded before me—one that made me completely forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Although it was my first time diving, the instructor kindly guided me, and I was able to swim alongside colorful fish. It offers great value for the price since it includes equipment rental and makes it easy to try scuba diving. The ocean was beautiful, too. However, there was a bit of a wait to use the showers, so it would have been perfect if the guidance had been a little smoother. Overall, it was a satisfying tour.

It had been years since I’d been in the ocean, so I was really worried before we left about whether I’d be able to dive properly, but thanks to the instructor’s careful guidance, I was able to get used to the water right away. They provided all the equipment, so I was able to fully enjoy the crystal-clear underwater world. I’m so glad I took the plunge and gave it a try.

It’s convenient that it’s close to the airport and you can join the activity right after you arrive. You can easily try scuba diving, with equipment rental included. However, there were some waves on the day of the activity and the water wasn’t very clear, so I got the impression that the experience depends on the ocean conditions. I think it’s worth the price.

The last time I went diving at a different shop, I had a hard time equalizing the pressure in my ears, but the instructor here gave such great guidance that this time, the dive went surprisingly smoothly! I had an amazing time surrounded by colorful fish in the crystal-clear water.
