*Please arrive at Setouchi Umi no Eki at least 15 minutes before the tour starts. Please call the guide when you arrive at Setouchi Umi no Eki.

*Depending on the operating conditions on the day of the tour, guests may be asked to take the ferry departing from Koniya Port on their own.
In such cases, the tour operator will inform you of the details in a final confirmation call the day before the tour.

First, we met up with our guide and boarded the ferry for a gentle ride to the nature-rich island of Kakeroma. Next, we took a leisurely stroll through a village that still retains its old-fashioned, retro charm, soaking up the island’s uniquely laid-back atmosphere with every fiber of our being (sweat). Thanks to our guide’s detailed explanations, we gained a deep understanding of the island’s history and culture, making for a truly fulfilling and wonderful tour of the island.

The scenery was beautiful and emo, but it was a bit long for one day and I might have gotten bored halfway through. I think a half-day plan would be enough to fully enjoy the tour!

Since we were traveling with a young child, we decided to join this leisurely walking tour. When we arrived on the island, we were greeted by a peaceful atmosphere unlike anything you’d find in the city, and our child was fascinated by the scenery. The retro vibe on Kakeroma Island is absolutely amazing!! From the moment I stepped off the ferry and arrived on the island, it felt like I’d traveled back in time—I was so excited!!! The last time I visited Amami Oshima, I was guided by this same guide, who was so kind that I decided to book him again for my walk around Kakeroma Island this time. As always, he was incredibly knowledgeable, and I was very satisfied to hear in-depth stories about the island that you won’t find in guidebooks.
