The contrast between the green mangroves and the crystal-clear blue sea was truly beautiful—everywhere I looked was a picture-perfect scene! The photos our guide took were amazing, and we were so happy to get images from wonderful angles that we could never have captured ourselves. Since we were outside all day, sunscreen is a must!

First, we boarded the shuttle to the hotel and headed to a beautiful beach. Even though I was traveling alone, I was able to enjoy myself without feeling self-conscious. The guide was very friendly and chatted with me, so I never felt lonely and was able to fully immerse myself in the seas and mangrove forests of Amami. When traveling alone, I tend to take fewer photos, but the guide took so many wonderful shots for me—free of charge—making this the perfect rejuvenating getaway.
