Ohama Seaside Park

Ohama Seaside Park, one of the best tourist spots on Amami Oshima, is also famous as a sunset spot.

Ohama Seaside Park is close to the city center, and facilities such as a beautifully maintained beach, the "Thalasso Amami no Ryugu," which focuses on healing and health, and the Amami Marine Exhibition Hall, which displays marine life and traditional fishing methods, are also located in the park.
It's an attractive spot to play all day long where you can watch the sunset after playing on the beach or at the facilities♪

Western Komi

Nishikomi is one of the island's top scenic spots and a hidden gem for those in the know.
It is located in a secluded part of the island, about 2 hours or more by car from Amami Airport, so it is not an easily accessible location, but it is worth seeing!

The view from the observatory, which was originally used as a liaison to fire artillery shells from the batteries, is truly spectacular!
This will be a highly recommended spot to take a drive and stretch your legs.

Kaganbana Tunnel, located in Yen Village, Ryugo Town, is a spot where visitors can encounter a rare sunset view only during a very limited period of the year!
The precious sunset can only be seen for a few days before and after the vernal equinox and the autumnal equinox, but if you are able to visit, you will be able to see the beautiful sight of the setting sun peeking through the ring of tunnels!
