Amami Oshima] Activity Tours for Students (Student Discount)

The last time I visited Amami, I toured the usual tourist spots, so this time I opted for a private, flexible tour and asked to be taken to some off-the-beaten-path places. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and took us to some amazing spots we would never have found on our own. However, the weather was a bit unpredictable and we had to change our plans, so I’d love to come back on a sunny day and give it another try.

This tour is a dream come true for camera enthusiasts! Since it was a private tour, we didn’t have to worry about others around us and could fully focus on photographing the wildlife☆ Encountering rare animals in the dark meant that no matter which moment we captured, every photo turned out mysterious and stunning♪ The guide showed us the best spots to photograph the animals, so we were able to take some truly amazing shots!

Since the local guide took us to the recommended spots in an efficient manner, I felt it was great value for money because it saved me the trouble of researching every detail on my own. Since it was a private tour, we had a lot of freedom, and I’m satisfied overall. If I had to nitpick, there were a few times when we had to rush a bit, so it would have been perfect if we’d had a little more time to linger at each location.

It’s very convenient because you can customize the itinerary to suit your preferences. We were able to visit most of the spots we wanted to see, so the experience was pretty much what I expected. However, the decision to change the route due to weather conditions was made a bit late, and there were times when we had some downtime. I’d say it was worth the price for a private tour.

First, I gave a rough idea of what I wanted to do during my stay, and then I left it entirely up to the guide as we toured the island. Next, the guide took us to a quiet beach known only to locals, and I was deeply soothed by Amami’s peaceful scenery… We were able to spend the entire day at a leisurely pace, but since the place we went for lunch was a bit crowded, I think it would have gone even more smoothly if we’d been advised to make a reservation in advance.

I was blown away by the stunning scenery at the spots recommended by our local guide—every angle was picture-perfect! Since we had the tour all to ourselves, I was able to take as many Instagram-worthy photos as I wanted until I was completely satisfied♪ If I had to nitpick, the wind was a bit strong along the coast, so it would have been perfect if I’d taken some precautions to keep my hairstyle from getting messed up!
