My parents, who are in their late 70s, joined us in late November hoping to see an Amami rabbit. By the time we turned around, we had seen a Blue-faced Mountain Shrike and Ryukyu Spotted Owl, but not an Amami Rock Egret! Some of them stayed still for a little while and showed us their faces, which made us all very excited.
