The dyeing experience was fun, but the smell of the mud bothered me a little. It was also difficult to get the colors to turn out the way I wanted.

It was so much fun to design and dye my own T-shirts! It was exciting to see the colors gradually change, and I was able to make the best and only Amami souvenir in the world!

I was very concentrated and absorbed in the hata-weaving of Oshima silk. It was a very valuable and meaningful experience, unique to Amami, to be able to actually experience traditional culture.
