The last time I visited Amami, I toured the usual tourist spots, so this time I opted for a private, flexible tour and asked to be taken to some off-the-beaten-path places. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and took us to some amazing spots we would never have found on our own. However, the weather was a bit unpredictable and we had to change our plans, so I’d love to come back on a sunny day and give it another try.

We used this service for our child’s first fishing experience. We really appreciated being able to participate without having to bring anything, and the guide kindly taught our child the basics of fishing. Our child was thrilled to eat the fish he caught that very night. It became a wonderful family memory.

It’s super convenient because you can join without bringing anything—even while you’re traveling! Even as a beginner, the captain will patiently teach you everything from how to bait your hook, so I was able to catch plenty of fish♪ Being able to eat the fish you caught that very night at an izakaya is the ultimate treat☆ I definitely recommend this for family trips, too!

It’s very convenient because you can customize the itinerary to suit your preferences. We were able to visit most of the spots we wanted to see, so the experience was pretty much what I expected. However, the decision to change the route due to weather conditions was made a bit late, and there were times when we had some downtime. I’d say it was worth the price for a private tour.

First, I gave a rough idea of what I wanted to do during my stay, and then I left it entirely up to the guide as we toured the island. Next, the guide took us to a quiet beach known only to locals, and I was deeply soothed by Amami’s peaceful scenery… We were able to spend the entire day at a leisurely pace, but since the place we went for lunch was a bit crowded, I think it would have gone even more smoothly if we’d been advised to make a reservation in advance.

I’d been wanting to go fishing in the waters off Amami for a while, so I finally took the plunge and signed up for this tour. I loved how convenient it was to join without having to bring any gear, and thanks to the captain’s expert choice of fishing spots, even a beginner like me was able to catch plenty of fish. I got to enjoy the fish I’d just caught, still fresh, at a local izakaya, and truly savored the bounty of the Amami seas to the fullest.
