After talking on the phone and asking a lot of questions, we decided to change to the full day tour with canoeing and great views because of the tide level. We borrowed sandals to reduce the amount of luggage we had to carry, and we were worried about how we would fare as a couple over 70 years old, but we were able to get on the canoe by ourselves thanks to a precise lecture before getting on the canoe. The guide, who grew up on the island, was very interesting and took us to an old-fashioned market that we would not have known about on our own, making for a fulfilling day. I will come back to Amami Oshima.
