奄美博物館とは

奄美博物館は、奄美空港から車で１時間、名瀬新港から車で５分、徒歩で１５分、奄美市役所より車で１０分、長浜町バス停から徒歩3分のところにある博物館です。開館時間は９時から１７時、入館は閉館時間の３０分前までとなっています。休館日は第３月曜日と年末年始１２月２８日から１月１日です。年に数回無料開放日もあります。常設展示展は個人の場合は、大人３００円、高校生・大学生１５０円、小学生・中学生は１００円となっています。奄美のいろいろな国の影響を受けた文化や歴史、生活、奄美大島の貴重な野生生物や自然などを展示紹介している施設になります。奄美伝統の農機具生活用品や伝統的な小型船なども見ることが出来たり、奄美の野生生物の剥製や昆虫の標本など、奄美の歴史や野生生物について詳しく知ることが出来る施設となっています。
