What is Honohoshi Coast?

Honohoshi Beach is located on a cape at the southern tip of Amami Oshima. The view of the rounded pebbles spreading out all over the beach is astonishing. The reason for the rounded shape of the pebbles is due to the rough ocean currents in the area.

Its rough seas also provide a favorable environment for fishing, and it is known as a good place to catch bonito, Ise shrimp, and sea bream. By the way, taking stones from this beach home is strictly prohibited.
