国定公園宮古崎とは

国定公園宮古崎は名瀬から車で30分ほどの大和村の国直集落から遊歩道を使い20分から25分ほど歩いた場所です。
駐車場は3箇所ありますが、国直海岸前か、国直サンセットパークの駐車場を利用しましょう。
作業道入り口駐車場は数台しか駐車できないです。
20分ほどで宮古崎に着きます。
見覚えのあるかたも多いと思いますが、大河ドラマの西郷どんのロケ地でもあります。
リュウキュウササが群生していることから宮古崎ササントとも呼ばれています。
簡単にいえば笹の塔の意味です。
獣道ではありませんが、笹の絨毯を一本道が突き抜けていく絵面になり、これだけでも感動する光景です。
岬の崎からは東シナ海が一望でき絶景に目をとられることでしょう。
冬場には近海にいるクジラ類を見ることも雲が良ければ可能です。
ドラマの主人公になった気持ちで絶景を眺めて悦に入るのも楽しいでしょう。
なお宮古崎は国定公園につき動植物はその場の観察のみで留めるのがマナーです。
