そんな奄美の自然の森を満喫できるスポットが「奄美フォレストポリス」です。

奄美フォレストポリスは、奄美大島の中部・大和村にある最高峰の湯湾岳の麓に広がる約20haの広大な森林公園です。山の中には亜熱帯植物が生い茂り、奄美の自然を存分に味わえます。

公園内には以下などで遊べる3つのゾーンがあります。

その他、自然体験やスポーツ合宿に適したキャンプ場、食事のできる「マテリャー茶屋」などがあります。

大和村役場から県道79号線を走り、毛陣トンネルを抜けると村道大棚名音線への曲がり道あります。

そこから奄美フォレストポリスまで車で約25分です。各ポイントに案内板が出ています。

Mateliya Falls - Amami-Oshima-. Located in Yamato Village on the west side of Amami Oshima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture, this waterfall has long been famous as a sacred place. The narrow mountain path leading to the waterfall is surrounded by thickly growing trees, so it seems dimly lit even in the daytime. However, after walking along the dimly lit mountain path, you will suddenly come to an open space where the waterfall basin shines in the sunlight.
