国直海岸とは

国直海岸は、奄美市名瀬から東シナ海を南へ向かい大和村に入ります。それから徒歩で国直集落を抜けると目の前にエメラルドブルーの海が開ける美しいビーチです。国直集落を抜けるときに、道に福木トンネルがあり、これは防風林のため植えられる福木ですが名前のとおり「福をもたらす木｣と言われ、葉の大きさや緑の深さが独特で雰囲気がとても良い。

海岸はエメラルドグリーンの透明度の高い海でサンゴが砕けてできた真っ白い砂浜がきれいで、踏みしめるとザクザク気持ちのいい音を楽しめます。亜熱帯地方ならではの風景や、駐車場にシャワー、更衣室やトイレも完備され家族で海水浴を楽しめます。海岸沿いには民宿や食事処、商店があり不自由しないでしょう。
