奄美大島の実久三次郎神社の風景

実久三次郎神社とは

源為朝という武将をご存知の方はどのくらいいるかわからないですが、人によっては義経よりも好きな方もいらっしゃるかと思います。
修羅や悪鬼、羅刹と恐れられるほどの武勇を誇り、追放された伊豆大島で再起し伊豆七島をまとめあげ幕府と戦い敗れ自害した武将です。
ここまでが歴史で習う範囲で、為朝はその後島伝いに渡って奄美大島にたどり着きます。

そこで儲けた子が実久三次郎と言われています。加計呂麻島の旧実久村や鎮西村には伝承が多く残っています。
この実久三次郎も相当な剛力の持ち主のようでして、宇検の名柄八幡と力比べした時の石が二基残っており、そこに巨大な手形と足形が残っています。
また実久三次郎の母の墓もあります。
