瀬戸内町立図書館・郷土館とは

瀬戸内町立図書館・郷土館は、奄美空港から車の場合は１時間４０分くらい瀬戸内町役場からは車で約５分、瀬戸内町役場から徒歩の場合は１５分くらいのところにあります。こちらの図書館は、１階は図書館になっていて、２階が郷土館になっている施設です。

１階は通常の図書館と、島尾敏雄の作品や関連の資料なども展示されています。また２階の郷土館には、諸鈍シバヤという瀬戸内町諸鈍に古くから伝えられている民俗芸能や油井豊年踊り、ノロの祭具など、国指定重要無形民俗文化財資料を展示していて見学することが出来ます。

瀬戸内町の歴史や文化を知ることが出来ます。入館料は無料になっていて、休館日は月曜日、資料整理日の４月１日、年末年始、年に１回の特別資料整理日となっています。
