船越海岸とは

船越海岸とは名瀬からとてつもなく遠いビーチで、アクセスが不便なため時期によっては人が誰もいないビーチです。逆に言えば、開放感があり光り輝く白い砂浜や透き通った青い海を独り占めしているという贅沢さを味わうことができます。

透明度が高いので水中では、サンゴや熱帯魚の鑑賞を楽しむことができ、浜の中程には「三味線洞窟」と呼ばれている洞窟があります。また、大潮の干潮時には、海一面にサンゴ礁が広がり、一味違った景観を醸し出しています。普段は、水没している所なので、この日ばかりは、海の上を歩くという体験ができます。
船越海岸へのアクセスとしては、名瀬港から車で１時間半位かかります。また、無料の駐車場があり、6台まで止めることが可能です。シャワーやトイレも完備されており無料になっています。
