嘉徳海水浴場の風景

嘉徳海水浴場とは

嘉徳海水浴場は奄美大島の南部の嘉徳集落の側にあります。この嘉徳集落の側に嘉徳側もあるんですが、嘉徳遺跡もあり縄文時代～平安時代にかけての遺骸も出てきています。
小規模の貝塚が点在していますので、貝をとるためのベースキャンプを気づいていたとの説があります。

波はそこそこあるのですが比較的遠浅の海が続いているのが特徴です。
駐車場は5台、シャワーとトイレはあり通年営業をされてはいますが、国道から外れて舗装された林道を通り抜けなければならないため、普遍的に静かなビーチの時が多いようです。

三方向を山に囲まれた状態ですので、プライベートビーチ感を強く感じます。
マナーの悪いサーフィン客が過去に問題になったことがあるようですので、地元の方に配慮して楽しむ心がけをもちましょう。
