About Sumiyomura Wood Craft Center

The Sumiyomura Woodworking Craft Center is,A facility where you can enjoy seeing and experiencing wooden furniture and wood products made by artisans on display, and where you can try your hand at making them using Amami wood.The location is about 1 hour from Amami Airport and about 25 minutes from the Setouchi area on Route 58. The facility fee will be 410 yen per person per hour. For woodworking, there is an additional fee for materials.

The price for a general course starts from 3,000 yen, and for a full-scale course, the price starts from 15,000 yen. The production time is 3 hours or more. The price and time will vary depending on what you want to make. If you are new to wood production, the staff will teach you how to do it.

The woodworking experience is,Because of the use of large woodworking machines, small children and those under 10 years old are not allowed to experience this program.Open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours are from 9:00 to 17:00. Reservations are required at least one day in advance for the woodworking experience.
