Overall, the tour was very enjoyable. The instructor was very nice and the time passed very quickly. I chose this tour for the canoeing, but I was also excited to walk in the forest. I would definitely use this tour again when I visit Amami!

This was my first trip to Amami and I wanted to experience many things, so I signed up for the night tour. We were picked up from our hotel, saw more than a dozen Amami rabbit owls (and a hubby), and the starry sky we saw as we got out of the car on the way was amazing. I will never forget the excitement of searching for and finding the Amami rabbit.
It rained on and off throughout the day, but luckily it did not rain during the tour, and we were able to see the Amami rabbit twice. We were also able to see a Himehabu and a rat (a species unique to Amami Oshima). It was a precious time that cannot be captured in a photograph because they are living creatures. I don't know how often we saw them, but the guide did his best to find them.
The half-day private tour was like a quiet ritual that led us to the “depths of Amami. The first half of the tour took us to Funangyo Falls and Modama, the native habitat of Jack and the Beanstalk. The forests surrounded by rain seemed to muffle the sounds, deepen the colors, and change the world to a slower time. I was struck by the mystery of time itself, as if nature was quietly speaking to me. In the second half of the day, we slid into the depths of the virgin mangrove forest by canoe. The rain stopped, the wind disappeared, and the boundary between the forest and the sky reflected in the water began to melt. Even the sound of moving paddles became distant, and I realized that I had stopped ”thinking" and could only "feel". Amami's nature is not only beautiful, but it is the best place to relax your mind and heart.
The coral reefs of Shirahama are really beautiful and I was happy to see them up close by snorkeling, the time spent moving leisurely on the sea by SUP was pleasant, and lunch at the island lunch box was simple and satisfying.
