We were very happy to see ferns that we had never seen before, a nanafushi even in winter, and an insect that may have served as a model for the character Kamaji in "Spirited Away. We were also able to see a Himehabu and a rat (a species unique to Amami Oshima). It was a precious time that cannot be captured in a photograph because they are living creatures.
