    I took part in the sunset canoe tour on the day I arrived in Amami. The view of the setting sun reflecting off the surface of the mangrove-lined river was absolutely beautiful, and I was able to enjoy a relaxing time. However, I was a little bothered by the bugs at dusk, so it would have been even better if there had been some information about insect repellent.

    Since I joined the tour on the day I arrived, I was worried about whether I’d have enough energy, but the canoe trip moved at a leisurely pace, so I was able to enjoy it without any strain. I also managed to spot the Amami black rabbit during the night safari, and I’m absolutely thrilled to have been able to fully experience Amami’s nature right after arriving.

    I took my child on a night tour. The electric car was so quiet that my child wasn’t startled and was able to see the Amami black rabbit up close. The guide kindly explained the animals’ behavior, making it a wonderful and unforgettable experience for my child.

    Playing in the waterfall from a mangrove canoe was absolutely amazing!! Paddling through the great outdoors was so much fun, and we had a blast splashing around in that mystical waterfall!!! You even get free photos, so if you come to Amami, you absolutely have to check this out!!!

    I had tried this on my previous visit to Amami Oshima, and since I wanted to create a different design this time, I decided to do it again. What I find fascinating about mud dyeing is how the color gradually deepens with each repeated step—it never fails to surprise me, no matter how many times I do it. The staff were kind enough to guide me through the process, and once again, I ended up with a T-shirt I’m really happy with.
